Presentation of the Akers/Grindle Award

The Akers/Grindle award, the most distinguished award issued by the Hall of Fame, was presented to Rick Waggoner in recognition of his service to the Hall.  Rick, a member of the Induction Class of 2006, assisted Alva Grindle with restarting the Hall of Fame in 2005 and was elected as the Board Chair when Alva passed away.  He was instrumental in helping the Hall grow from a small, relatively unknown group that held induction ceremonies annually to a large, well-known organization that gives back to the community and supports live music in the Wabash Valley, was well as continuing to induct worthy Wabash Valley musicians.
