Hall of Fame Class of 2013

The 20th annual induction ceremony was held on February 10, 2013 at the V.F.W. Post 972 in Terre Haute, IN. Gary "Soapy" Hopkins, John E. Jackson, David Joy and Jerry Wayne Strain were unable to attend.

The Valley Brothers band opened the ceremony by singing the National Anthem, Terry Wenzel gave the invocation, then our opening act, Hype War Machine, took the stage.

The Akers/Grindle award was presented to Arlie Price.

We donated table space to students from the Brown County, IN, junior high school to sell raffle tickets for a John Mellencamp autographed guitar. They were accompanied by Toby Myers, former bass player for John Mellencamp, who joined in the jam session with our inductees.

Presentation of Awards

The Akers/Grindle award, the Hall's highest award, was presented to Arlie Price in recognition of his service to the Hall. Arlie was among the musicians who helped to found the Hall of Fame in 1994, and helped Alva Grindle to restart the Hall in 2005, serving on the original Board of Directors put together by Alva.
