Musical History of Roy Chapman

Musical Influences 

Roy was inspired and encouraged by his father, Tom Chapman, who played guitar, and family friend Hube Justus, who was also an accomplished guitar player.  Roy has played the pedal steel guitar from the age of 10, taking lessons from Harlam Brothers from Indianapolis, Indiana.  He also plays dobro and guitar.

Memorable Moments

He played with Jodi Miller, Claude Akins, Tom Wopat, was the opening act for Barbara Mandrell and Bill Anderson, played at Shawnee Summer Theater for 3 seasons, and played shows at Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN..  He has also done studio work for different artists.

Hall of Fame

Roy was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a part of the Class of 2018.
